Lancaster players set to join Major League roster for three games against Dodgers this weekend at Dodger Stadium & Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum
(LANCASTER, CA) – The highly anticipated three-game exhibition series between the Boston Red Sox and the Los Angeles Dodgers will have a Lancaster flair as five JetHawks players have been selected by Boston to take part in the games to be played at Dodger Stadium and the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.
First baseman Lars Anderson, shortstop Argenis Diaz, outfielders Reid Engel and Jason Place, and pitcher T.J. Large will suit up for the Major League Red Sox for the three games. For the major league team, the extra players provide additional depth during the exhibition games, which follow a two-game Major League opening series that the Red Sox played in Tokyo, Japan earlier this week. For the Lancaster players, it is a unique opportunity to play in big league stadiums in front of sold-out crowds.
The rest of the JetHawks open their own exhibition series at Clear Channel Stadium beginning Sunday afternoon at 2 PM against Cal Lutheran. The JetHawks will have its full roster back for the last two exhibition games, Monday against The Master’s College and Tuesday’s annual game against Antelope Valley College. The latter two games will begin at 5 PM, with a ticket package holder meet-the-team party taking place after the AVC contest.
The JetHawks open the 2008 regular season on April 3 at High Desert before returning to Clear Channel Stadium for the home opener on April 10 against the Lake Elsinore Storm. Tremendous ticket packages starting at only $56 are available for purchase now by calling 661.726.5400.
