(LANCASTER, CA) – The Lancaster JetHawks, Class A affiliate of the World Champion Boston Red Sox, have announced a special opportunity for fans to take advantage of incredible savings today during its “One Giant Leap For Fankind” Leap Day tribute.

Today marks Leap Day, when one day is added to February, giving the shortest month of the year 29 days. This rare occurrence takes place once every four years and to commemorate this special day, the JetHawks will be offering tremendous ticket package specials that are only available from 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM today.

If your birthday is today, than you share the same special day as baseball legends Pepper Martin of St. Louis’ Gashouse Gang, the Indians’ Al Rosen, infomercial guru and inspirational speaker Tony Robbins and rapper Ja Rule. While that may be enough good news to last a while, the better news is that if you present a birth certificate or driver’s license showing your birthday is February 29 this today until 5:30 PM, you will receive a free 2008 Box Section season ticket.

However, if you are not one of the estimated 187,000 people worldwide who share this odd-ball day as your entry into the world, you can still take advantage of two great offers. Fans may purchase a Box Section season ticket for the normal price of $350 on Friday and “Leap” to the Dugout Section for no additional upgrade fee. In addition, fans can purchase two Dugout Box Mini Plan C ticket plans for only $229.08, which happens to be the numeric date for Friday (2/29/08). This offer is a savings of over $108 off of the normal package price and includes tickets to the 26 best games of the season.
