JetHawks Make it Back-to-Back Road Win Over Inland Empire
Lancaster opens 8-0 lead, holds on to win 8-6

(SAN BERNARDINO, CA) – For the first time since April, the Lancaster JetHawks have won consecutive games on the road. Once again it was the offense that led the way, scoring eight runs over the first five innings in an 8-6 win over the Inland Empire 66ers. Lancaster takes two out of three to win the series, their second road series win of the season and first since early May.

The top of the order sparked the JetHawks early. Jay Austin and Albert Cartwright reached base to open the first and third innings, scoring both times to help open a 4-0 lead. In the first inning, it was an error and a Freddy Parejo single that gave the JetHawks the lead. In the third inning, Brandon Barnes tripled off the top of the center-field wall to drive in the two runs. Lancaster added three more in the fifth inning before Inland Empire answered.

Ross Seaton gave the JetHawks a solid outing to earn his third win of the year. He hurled a quality start, allowing three runs in seven innings. Brian Wabick, returning to the JetHawks after almost a month in Double-A, struggled as the 66ers rallied to get to within two. But David Berner entered in the ninth and struck out Austin Gallagher to end the game and pick up his ninth save.

The JetHawks road swing moves to Adelanto Thursday night as the they open a three-game series at High Desert. The JetHawks will send David Duncan (0-1) to the mound against the Mavericks Anthony Vasquez (2-2). The game begins at 7:05 PM. The game will be broadcast starting with the Pre-Game Show at 6:50 on CSN@JetHawks.com and NewsTalk 1380.
