Quakes Open Series by Shutting Down JetHawks 8-0
Lancaster has 12 straight road losses

(RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CA) – The Rancho Cucamonga Quakes got strong pitching from starter Patrick Corbin and two relievers as they shut out Lancaster 8-0 Thursday night in the first game of a four-game series. Lancaster has lost its last 12 road games.

A line drive helped end the night early for JetHawks starter Brad Dydalewicz. With one out and one on in the first inning, Alexi Amarista’s low liner hit Dydalewicz squarely on the leg, deflecting to shortstop Brandon Wikoff for an out. After throwing three practice pitches for trainer Eric Montague and the JetHawks coaching staff, Dydalewicz stayed in the game. After three straight hits, however, and three runs, the team went to the bullpen for the rest of the night.

Held to just five hits, the JetHawks best scoring chance came in the first inning. With two outs, Brandon Barnes David Flores, and Freddy Parejo all walked to load the bases. Federico Hernandez flied out to end the threat, and the Quakes took the lead in the bottom of the inning.

Ebert Rosario had two hits and a walk to lead Lancaster. Patrick Urckfitz turned in a career-high four innings of relief to spell Dydalewicz, allowing just one run in the process.

The JetHawks will try to turn around their road luck Friday night in Rancho Cucamonga. Shane Wolf (3-3) takes the mound for the JetHawks against Matt Shoemaker (3-3) of the Quakes. The game begins at 7:05 PM and will be broadcast live on CSN @ JetHawks.com and NewsTalk 1380 AM with the JetHawks Pre-Game Show beginning at 6:50.
