Quakes Come from Behind to Beat JetHawks 6-5
Lancaster loses after scoring four times in the first inning

(RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CA) – Lancaster’s late-inning magic finally came up short Tuesday night. After coming from behind to win four times during a five-game win streak, Lancaster was unable to do so on the road, losing to Rancho Cucamonga 6-5.

It looked like Lancaster would roll to a sixth straight win when they pounded the Quakes for four runs in the first inning. With two outs Freddy Parejo and David Flores both walked. Mark Ori singled home Parejo, then Federico Hernandez parked a three-run homer over the right field wall to give Lancaster a substantial lead.

Ross Seaton cruised through two perfect innings before running into trouble. Alexi Amarista’s two run homer in the third inning put the Quakes on the board. Three straight hits to open the fourth inning gave the Quakes the lead. While Seaton settled down to pitch two more scoreless frames, he suffered his third loss of the season (1-3.

As the have almost nightly over the last week, Lancaster tried to battle back. Leadoff singles in the sixth and seven innings gave way to double plays to end those threats. Parejo doubled to open the eighth and scored on a ground out by Ori That got the JetHawks to within one, but they wouldn’t get another base runner.

The JetHawks will try to start a new win streak Wednesday night at the Epicenter. Dallas Keuchel (1-2) will pitch for the Lancaster against Rancho Cucamonga’s Ariel Pena (0-0).
